Botox is one
of the fastest growing cosmetic procedures today. Angry appearing
frown lines are dramatically erased in minutes without surgery
and without scars. Botox can also be combined with other
procedures to address deep creases in the areas of the
nasolabial folds, marionette lines and tear troughs making it
the newest approach to refurbishing an aging face.
Botox
has been in use since 1980 for the treatment of lazy eye and
uncontrolled blinking. Botox, for cosmetic use, was pioneered
by Jean Carruthers in Vancouver in 1989 and subsequently
published in The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology
in 1995. Dr. Leroy is a protégé of Dr. Carruthers and has
studied under her direct tutelage. |

| Where is the Botox applied? |
Frown Lines - Between the eyebrows.
Frown lines are caused by the action of seven facial muscles including
the corrugator and procerus muscles. You feel
this as a thickening just below the inside of your eyebrows,
when you purposefully make yourself frown. Injecting Botox
into this muscle stops your ability to draw your eyebrows
together when you frown. Once the muscles are immobilized, they
cannot contract, and the frown line gradually fades away.
Crow's feet, forehead wrinkles, upper lip lines and
neck folds respond equally well to Botox injections. |

| Will it last? |
